Sitting atop the rolling hills of rural Howard County is a large, luxurious, European-style manor house. Built as a private residence, the house was transformed into a boutique hotel. Since then, the establishment has undergone major renovations, won national awards and been featured on several television programs.
In the last decade the house, called the Inn at Peralynna Manor, has been voted the Best Bed and Breakfast/Inn in North America in 2005 and 2006, and the Best Bed and Breakfast/Inn in the U.S.A. in 2004, by Arrington's Inn Traveler magazine. And recently it has been featured twice on HGTVs Dream Builders program, the Travel Channel and a travel show for US Airways. Read the article.

I just spend my second annual Christmas Eve and Christmas Day retreat at the Columbia Inn at Peralynna Manor, and I have to say that the second time was as good as the first. The staff is extremely kind, welcoming and gracious. Christmas Day, both David and Cynthia mingled, greeted and chatted with the guests. Just like last year, I was able to spend Christmas Day relaxing on one of the sofas by the Christmas Tree, watching movies and listening to music on my tablet. A sumptuous dinner of roast turkey, mashed sweet potatoes, scalloped potatoes, dressing, rolls and gravy was ready promptly by 5pm. I went back throughout the night for seconds, thirds, and midnight snack. Btw, the staff worked early in the morning to make the delicious chocolate cake, cookies, and beautifully decorated red velvet and vanilla cupcakes. Breakfast cooked to order is top notch. Thanks to David, Cynthia, and the entire staff for making my stay enjoyable. This will be an annual tradition for me.

My wife and I stayed here the night after our wedding before heading off on our honeymoon. The room was exactly as advertised on the inn's website, and it actually felt a little larger due to the cathedral ceilings we couldn't see on the photos. The amenities package that I ordered was a very nice touch, and the room was very nice and romantic. If it had cost a bit less I would be more than happy to make a repeat visit for a longer stay - maybe later, if our budget can afford it! The made-to-order breakfast was very good and the inn had a very comfortable, friendly feel to it. If you haven't been to an inn before this is definitely a great one to try out. It's not the cheapest place to spend the night in the area, but it is definitely a worthwhile experience if you haven't done it before!

We had the pleasure of staying at Peralynna at the end of May 2012 to the second week of June 2012. We traveled with our 11 year old daughter and 8 month old son, and we stayed in one of the basement apartments. The apartment itself was huge, much more like a large one bedroom apartment than a room available in a bed and breakfast. We had a full kitchen, living room, master bedroom area, and second bedroom area with 2 beds and its own exit outside. We were also situated outside of the game room that had a large television, comfy squishy couches, and pool table. It was great, quiet and plenty of freedom. I had no problem letting my 11 year old hang out around the inn, and everyone loved our baby. Breakfast every morning was great, the choices were excellent, and of the 2 weeks we stayed there, I think my husband had a different meal every day. There were also snacks available in the afternoon, like cheese, crackers,and fruit, with a different sweet under the cake glass every day. Unlimited wine available all day went great with the cheese and crackers. :) In the afternoons we explored the "countryside" and went to the petting zoo down the road, and in the evenings, we caught fireflies in the large backyard, or grabbed a dvd from their large selection and had the option of sitting in our own living room or in the game room with the giant television. It was great. Definitely a spoiling experience!

We stayed at the Inn as part of our 31st anniversary celebration based on the recommendation of my sister. It is an absolutely charming place, with exceptional food. It was easy to access and the staff very cordial. We would come again.

Lori- The Inn at Peralynna is beautifully appointed with special touches throughout. The rooms are spacious, the grounds offer many pictures, and the beds are incredibly comfortable. Staff was polite and courteous and the breakfast to order was a special treat.
